INFO CRUISE 2006 – Techno Quiz
This quiz was conducted at UC College, Aluva on 28th August,2006 and was won by Rohit n yours truly. Prelims was all about total tech and I guess we scraped through with 4 teams qualifying for the final round. Here are a few of the questions which I could jot down. Questions in bold were the ones directed to us.
Quiz was divided into 5 rounds which were:

Teams are asked direct questions with the right answer carrying 10 pts n pass q carrying 5 pts. Each team gets 2 direct questions, one on the clockwise round n other in the anti-clockwise round.

This was a round in which we could choose a topic from a given list of 6 topics namely: Operating Systems, Hardware/Software, Computer Languages, Computer Networks, Viruses and Computer Security( and 1 topic I don’t remember).
On the topic we choose we will be asked a series of 4 questions in which the correct answer fetches you +10 and incorrect fetches you –5. The questions can be passed which carry +5.

IV FACE OFF
In this round, a picture of a famous personality was hidden behind a set of 9 squares. On correctly answering a particular square, a part of the picture grid is revealed. Each correct answer fetches +5 and we can reveal a maximum on 4 blocks. Correctly identifying the picture fetches you points based on a system.The scoring system was:
a) Identifying pic after revealing 1 square - +35
Total: 35 + 1x5 = 40 pts
b) Identifying pic after revealing 2 squares - +25
Total: 25 + 2x5 = 35 pts
c) Identifying pic after revealing 3 squares - +15
Total: 15 + 3x5 = 30 pts
d) Identifying pic after revealing 4 squares - +5
Total: 5 + 4x5 = 25
e) Not identifying pic but answering all 4 blocks:
Total: 0 + 4x5 = 20
